First meeting between Emerald Ridge and the new Puyallup Vikings squad. As anticipated this game was good, full of spirit, emotion and excitement...a lot of passion on the field. Both teams coming into this game with undefeated records, winner taking sole possession of first place.
ER in the first 2 minutes scores the first goal, then a 2nd goal with :50 seconds left to take a 2-0 lead at end of 1Q, adding one in 2Q to take a 3-0 lead at the half. ER offense struggled to get any consistency going but did add 2 more goals in the 2nd half to finish with 5, enough for a solid win. Sophomore middie Cameron Dillon led ER with 2 goals, attackmen Caleb Curtis and Joey Primm each picked up 5GBs and D poles Jonathan Gilmore and Sean McBroom picked up 4GBs each. Goalie Conner McMullen had 6 saves on 7 shots on goal, helping his defense pitch a shutout for 3Qtrs.
Shout out to Puyallup for staying within striking distance and their defense keeping Emerald Ridge top scorers in check. Puyallup goalie Max VanBeek recording 11 saves on 16 shots on goal.
Looking forward to the rematch on April 2nd.
