Our PBLA team is again in Prague, Czech Republic for the 2007 Memorial cup.

Our team faced Berlin, Germany in pool play and defeated them 10-2. Then then faced the host team, Radotin, immediately after the opening ceremony in front of a couple thousand home town fans. They lost that match 5-3.

This put them into a match against defending tournament champions Jizni Mesto. The game was tied 5-5 heading into the 3rd but the defending champs pulled away for a 10-5 win.

We will nor face the Boston Megamen for 5th place on Sunday.

Congratulations to the Beer Wolves on their impressive championship win last night. As anyone who was at the game could see you never want to be trailing against a Matt Cannon goaltended team in the 3rd period. All the guys played a good game and a lot of that is due to their leadership this year. The loss a longtime captain Jaques Bagley to the Chicago Machine was seen as many, including myself, to be a major chink in their armor. However Mark Brundage stepped up and proved himself to not only be a great player but solid influence on the bench (and in the locker room if you will). Congratulations again to Mark, Matt and every guy on the team for their well deserved championship.

The Philly team lost in the Semis to Jizni Mesto, the defending champs, and then lost the 3rd place game to TC Malesice 7-6 and settled for 4th place. Considering the percentage of new players on the team this was an impressive performance and the team as a whole deserves credit for their performance and results. On to the season at Rizzo and other tournaments in the future.

I have not recieved any updates on today's game(s). I was getting text messages from Greg Golding but his phone battery probably died and none of those nit wits would ever think to bring a 120 volt converter to plug a charger into. The last update was about the International All-Star selections.

Congratulations to Keith Cottom, Mark Cottom, and Greg Golding, all from the Grim Reapers, on being selected for the first time to the International Team. Congratulations as well to both Joe Stainer and Brian Stewart, both of the Vipers, on their 5th consectutive selection to the team, more than anyone else from any country. Brian and Joe have been picked each and every year since the game started. Hopefully we will get an update tomorrow about the semi-final and championship game.
