I too witnesed the shot that you were referring to and I had a better angle than the Officials and I would have made the same call. I'm not saying that it didn't absolutely go in, but in that instance, it appeared to me and every one aroun me that it hit the cross bar and careemed to the corner. Unless one of the officials were quick enough to get up the ice that far to be able to make the call, it is understandable that it could have been a missed call. I understand that there is a video that apparently (in slow motion) will show the puck entering and exiting the net.

Unfortunately, the referee has to make that call right as it happens and doesn't get the benefit of slowmo replay.

As an unbiased observer of Mondays game between the Cowboys and Burbank I happened to be standing next to the boards in the corner directly across from the Burbank net near the end of the 3rd period. In all fairness to the Cowboys they scored the game tying goal with less than a minute left but the refs missed it and allowed the play to continue. The puck hit the back of the net up high and came back out, no question about it.

I know the refs aren't perfect but the Cowboys got shortchanged after making a great comeback and Burbank got a win that should have been settled in overtime.
