When is the next time you will open up registration again? I signed up my son for a basketball league in Castro Valley not knowing about you guys in Alameda. I had to pull him out after he was assigned to a team that does practices from 8pm to 9pm in Castro Valley. We live in Alameda and my son keeps asking when he can learn basketball. This is the only time when he said he doesn't care if he knows anyone. He desperately wanted to be part of a team. He is in 4th grade and have no experience playing on a team. His only experience is playing in our backyard. Any chance that he can be added to the waiting list at this time of the year? Thanks!

The 3rd Grade Boys 2016-17 League for Alameda Youth Basketball is filled to capacity. Should any spaces open up in league, we will fill them from members of the Waitlist. To apply for a spot on the Waitlist, come to the Player Evaluation on Sunday October 9, 8:45am-10:45am at the Alameda Boys & Girls Club. If you are unable to attend, then you should be present at the Make-up Session, Wednesday October 12, 5:45- 7:00pm, also at the Alameda Boys & Girls Club. Parents will be asked to complete registration forms for the Waitlist, while the players are evaluated on a number of drills and a brief scrimmage. Openings in the league may occur as late as December, so your player would know his status by then. If you have any further questions, contact Randy Marmor at 418-7451 or randy4sports@hotmail.com.

Hi Jon Bergeron,
I was told to contact you regarding coaching one of the 3rd Grade Boys teams. I need to know one of you have enough coaches and two I have a son that would like to play but he will need to be cleared by his doctor. He wanted me to be his coach. Can you shed some light on this for me before we get started in this process.

My son is now registered for basketball this fall and I am wondering what days practice usually takes place as he would also like to play soccer? I am guessing both have games on the weekends and we therefore can't do both?
