Piney Orchard Adult League Playoffs

With the approach of the end of the Fall/Winter regular season of the Piney Orchard Adult League, the playoff schedule and format has been developed.

Playoffs will begin on April 25th. with the start of the first round and will run until May 18th. with game three of the finals for all three (A,B,C) leagues.

There will be three rounds of playoffs for each league.

The format for each league is as follows: The first place team of each league will get a bye in the first round. The remaining teams in the A and C leagues will play: 2 vs. 7, 3 vs. 6, and 4 vs. 5. At the end of the first round, the teams will be re-seated #2, #3, #4. Then the second round will begin with 1 vs. 4, 2 vs. 3 until we have the two teams that will compete for the final round, best two out of three League Championship.

At the B level, the first round of play will be 2 vs. 5, 3 vs. 4, with the first place team getting a bye. At the end of the first round, the teams will be re-seated #2, # 3, and # 4. Then the second round will begin with a round robin style of play. 1 vs. 3, 2 vs. 1, 3 vs. 2 with the top two teams advancing to the final round, best two out of three League Championship. The second round Tie Breaker for the B league will be:
1-Most points in both games.
2-Head to head.
3-Least goals given up in both games.
4-Least penalty minutes in both games.

All playoff games will go to a 5-minute, stop time, 4 on 4 sudden death overtime if the game ends in regulation with a tie. At the end of the overtime period if the teams are still tied, there will be a five-player shoot-out. If still tied, there will be a one for one sudden death shoot-out using all remaining players, excluding the first five shooters from each team until each team has gone through their entire roster on the score sheet for that game. All league rules will apply for all three rounds of Piney Orchard Adult League Playoffs. Playoff schedules are available at the front office or ask your scorekeeper. Good luck to all in the playoffs and THANK YOU for your support of the Piney Orchard Adult League.

Sincerely,
Gary Cremen

To all players: Please take note that when your game is over and you leave the rink it is late. When you are in our parking lot please try to keep the noise level down. We have received several complaints about loud music coming from people hanging in our parking lot. Please be considerate to our neighbors who may have young children.
Thank You
