Description
Senior League plays 7 inning games. The kids pitch to batters all 7 innings. This league uses a league hard ball. Batting helmets with safety cages are required. The teams have 14 players on the roster. The diamonds have an 80-foot base path. The pitcher's rubber is set at 54'-0". All players must play at least 4 innings in the field. Everyone bats. Illinois High School Association (IHSA) baseball rules are used with a few exceptions. Leading off and stealing are allowed. The drop third strike and the infield fly rules apply. The games are officiated by IHSA certified umpires. Games are played on the diamond located along Montrose Avenue, mid way between Lincoln and Western Avenues. The Senior League will start play with a practice game the in late April. The regular season starts the following week. The playoffs start mid July and end late July. There is a 3 game World Series. The season ending picnic is the Saturday following the World Series.
