| Team Summaries | Raptors Notes: From pre-game warm-ups to infield drills to focus in the dugout -- the Raptors showed they were ready to play some baseball (gotta love 9:30 games!) Amazing focus and energy translated into outstanding performances all around, especially on the defensive end. You couldn’t have asked for a better showing to end the regular season (and a perfect springboard to the playoffs?) Will B's strong 2-inning start on the mound led the way. He helped himself in the 2nd inning with an alert pick-off throw to Jet M. at third base, followed by an inning ending put-out by Sam D at catcher to nab a stealing Grasshopper at second before the runner on third could cross the plate (the first of three successful appearances by Buster.) Shaun M continued to impress on the mound (as he has all season), then Asher B took over and was throwing some heat. The play of the day came in the 4th inning on Max R’s throw-down to third base to catch a stealing Grasshopper, immediately followed by a 5-3 put-out from Marcus O to Jet M to pick off a second runner (Scorebook: 2-5, 5-3?) Malik P, in his first official pitching appearance of the season, capped off a great day with a clean frame. At the plate the Raptor bats were alive too. Strong performances by Jet M, Max, Marcus, Will and the hot-hitting Graham M led the way. Game balls to BOTH Will B for his pitching performance and Graham M for his sizzling bat. Graham presented the team pin to Jet for his perfect bunt to lead the game off and key plays at third and first on defense. Thanks to Kevin and Miles for calling a great game. Grasshoppers Notes: |
