Team Summaries Franklin Notes:
This was a well played game by both teams. A seasaw battle from begining to end. And the battle of quarters. Franklin jumped out to a 5-1 lead and Eastside came roaring back. It pretty much went like that all the way to the wire. And with 30 seconds left in the game the Quakers watched a 3 goal lead fall down to a 1 goal lead, but the Quakers held on to win at the horn 12-11. Once again hats off to the Ravens coaching staff and players. Well played game, looking forward to the rematch.

Eastside Ravens Notes:
Franklin is just plain good. The Ravens played hard, but that was not enough against a well balanced and talented Quaker squad. Anyone who made it to this game saw a wild and exciting contest. Down by as many as 5 goals at one time, the scrappy Ravens showed a good deal of heart to close within one at the time of the final horn.

For much of the early part of the game, the Quakers won the battle of the midfield. The Raven middies could only shake their heads after being repetitively schooled by the Quaker phenom Hayward Evans. This guy is truly explosive and capable of dominating a game.

Raven attackman Jack Andrews continued continued on his own torrid pace scoring 5 goals. He further tested the Franklin D by dishing 3 assists. Ian 'The Junkman' Lee stepped up with an assist and a pair of goals, including the final tally with 2 ticks left on the clock. Captain Scott McCann had also had 2 goals and an assist.

As strange as it sounds in an 11-12 game, both goalkeepers played important roles. Quaker keeper Hal Glade made many stellar saves. Erik Yaap would be the first to admit that he was not at his best, but his 14 saves helped keep this game as close as it was.

The Raven D did a fine job, holding the explosive Quaker attackmen to only 4 total goals.

Again, the game was played very fairly with a minimum of fouls. Nate Bird did a fine job of reffing the game, especially considering the fact that he was single-handed.

Congrats Quakers! You won with style and class. The Ravens enjoyed this game and REALLY look forward to the rematch in May.
