Vashon Notes:
eastside started the game fast and Vashon never recovered. Vashon goalie Eli Steffen made some terrific saves to prevent Eastside from running away. In the second half, Vashon got more organized and made it more of a game. Freshman Attackman Dane Loraas looks to be a player, as he got five of Vashon's seven goals. It was a well played game by both sides with only a few penalties.Eastside Ravens Notes:
Spring like weather finally appeared at this game. Raven players and fans struggled through Friday traffic to make the ferry and the 6:00 start time.
The early stages of the game where well played and close. The Vultures were most likely anxious to get there year started, given that some teams have allready played 3 games.
Jack Andrews started out the scoring, and eventually put 6 into the Vulture net, with one assist. Scott McCann had another outstanding night, scoring a hat trick. Rich Anastasi hammered home his first goal of the season.
Half time found the score 6 - 1 Ravens.
The Vultures seemed to find their game in the second half, scoring six times. The Ravens were able to just keep out of reach, scoring 5 more goals. Kyle Farrell scored his first career Raven goal on a backhanded deflection. It was a hockey style goal if there ever was one, and one for the 2002 highlight film.
Solid defense was again critical to the Raven victory. James DeMuth, Jayme McLean, and Kellen Gallacher played outstanding games. The second half gave Eastside a chance to get many new defenders a good deal of valuable learning time.
The game was well played and very well officiated. |
