Team Summaries	Golden Eagles (Beireis) Notes: AYB Girls Grade 5-6; Running Rebels (Sponsor- Bay Risk Insurance) v. Golden Eagles (Sponsor- McDonald's Central Ave.) Game Date: December 7, 2008 In this exciting first game, The Running Rebels lead early, but the Golden Eagles defense and rebounding catapulted them into the lead at half, 8 to 9. Golden Eagle leading scorers were Emily Beireis and Megan Cvitanovic. In the second half, the Running Rebels height advantage paid off and they regained the lead in the fourth quarter. Sara Cooper of the Golden Eagles kept things close with a long field goal and defenders Taylor Jackson and Christina Chu played an exceptional fourth quarter to keep the game close. The Rebels scored six points in the last two minutes to seal the victory, 22 to 15. Running Rebels (Silva - Red) Notes: It was a close and exciting game with the Bay Risk Insurance Running Rebels earning a win for the opening game. Center Serena Milroy scored the first two points of the game, earning six total along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Kennedy Hanson provided a strong presence from her forward position grabbing 10 rebounds and scoring two points. Point Guard Ernecia Pitre put relentless pressure on the ball creating turnover after turnover. Point Guard Simone Willcox put up six points, four steals and effectively ran the offense.
