A cold afternoon in Bellingham. Northshore controlled the game in the first half, with 10 unanswered goals. The wind blew a different direction in the second half. A ref time out to anchor down the goals, then came hail, sleet, snow and driving rain. This seemed to suit Whatcom just fine, as they came out and scored 4 goals. Play got sloppy for Northshore as they scored only once but found their way to the penalty box 6 times. At the end of the third quarter it was Northshore 11 to Whatcom 4. Northshore gained composure in the 4th, staying out of the penalty box, and scoring 3 goals on extra man offense. But Whatcom kept coming with 3 more goals. All the fans had retreated to the warmth of their cars by the time the game ended; Northshore 14 Whatcom 7.
