A great battle in an always great match-up between I-90 rivals.

Issaquah came out a bit overamped and had to collect its collective breath after falling behind 3-0. Both team's defenses pressured the ball very well all night long, but Mercer handled the pressure better in the first quarter then Issaquah.

Nick Yaap scored early in the 2nd quarter on a great diving goal coming from behind the cage. Mercer responed though and pushed back to a two goal lead at 4-2. With under 2 minutes in the half Connor McClain pushed a break and found Todd Jones. Jones side stepped a defender and finished. Travis Wright won the ensuing face off and pushed again. Mercer appeared to stifle the quick transition, but Yaap found Jones at the back pipe and Issaquah tied the score just before half.

The third quarter belonged to the purple and gold. Yaap found Jordan Goldstein all alone for an easy dunk to start the half. Jake Director followed with an unassisted tally. Then off a Bressler save, Misner outlet too McClain who started another break. No slide came so McClain finished himself. Issaquah was fired up and would never look back! Mercer then went two men down and Issaquah capitalized with 2 man up goals in a minute stretch. The last, a Director to Jones tally, pushed the score to 10-4 at the end of three.

Issaquah carried the momentum to the 4th. Bressler continued to make saves, defense made adjustments and the offense handled Mercer's pressure by continuing to find the back of the net. Issaquah kept Mercer scorelss for almost the entire half and in all scored 12 unanswered goals.

Connor McClain was everywhere and contributed in every fashion. Dan Bressler registered 7 big saves at key moments for the win.
