Issaquah peppered the cage and Mercer's Adam Bowen became visibly frustrated in net.
The second quarter slowed a bit but two more from Jake Director helped Issaquah push to a 7-2 halftime advantage.
Both teams looked gassed in the second half, but Issaquah managed to captialize on a few broken plays to extend to 9-2. Mercer rallied for two straight goals early in the 4th quarter, but a key Travis Wright to Todd Jones transition goal broke Mercer's spirit and all but ended it.
Nick Yaap was a huge difference in goal, making 14 saves and clearing the ball well. Connor McClain was his usual self... all over the field, tying up Mercer sticks left and right.
