Timber Rattlers Notes:
The Timber Rattlers squared off against the Mudcats Sat morning, and the first of back-to-back games for the T-Rats promised a steady stream of pitchers looking to eat up some of the 12 innings we'll need to throw this weekend.

LucasB set the T-Rats down in order in the top of the first. He hit as well as he pitched - launching a rocket off Clyde's glove and up the middle for a leadoff single. He and a couple teammates were eventually forced home with walks for an early Mudcats 3-0 lead.

Over the next couple innings, the T-Rats clawed their way back into the game. Stub plated two in the second with a single up the middle; Bulldog doubled with the bases loaded in the third and came home on Wingles' infield single.

Meanwhile, Fingers, threw two complete, allowing a single run and then Thunder and Bulldog hung zeroes on the board. The T-Rats extended their lead with a series of walks and small contact in the 5th, and then some bigger hits by Lightning and Verne in the 6th.

Rhino struggled to open the bottom of the 6th, walking the bases loaded to set up the defensive play of the game. Popping out from behind the plate, Thunder backpicked a runner straying off of first, firing a strike to Fingers, who dropped a perfect tag. The defensive gem clearly calmed Rhino on the mound, and he responded with 2 quick outs to end the game!
