Loss (2 - 11) vs Whatcom View
Date: 5/3/2012 6:00p
Location: Stanwood Middle School
No league summary available
Home Notes:
On a field slick with mud, Whatcom proved the more sure-footed. The Warriors started the scoring with a goal by Logan Jungkuntz, assisted by Dylan Bruce. Garrett Savoy answered for the Spartans a few minutes later, but that was to be the last scoring Stanwood would do 'til the 4th quarter. Taking control of the game with their short-pass, crease oriented offense, Whatcom ran off 4 unanswered goals before the first half horn, making the half-time score 5-1. A strong display of team defense and control offense allowed Whatcom to continue the assault, racking up 5 goals in the 3rd period. In the 4th quarter, the Spartan defense adjusted to Whatcom's attack, and did a great job holding their strong attack down. Early in the 4th, power attackman Josh Smith powered to the crease for a second and last Stanwood goal. Zeb Croker closed out the scoring with an assist from Bryan Lee.

Stanwood Leaders: Garrett Savoy, 1 goal and 1 ground ball;
Josh Smith, 1 goal and 1 ground ball; Frank Medlicott, 9 ground balls; Josh Schuh, 6 ground balls.
Whatcom Leaders: Zeb Croker, 4 goals; Logan Jungkuntz, 3 goals; Dylan Bruce, 3 goal and 2 assists; Aiden Sands, 1 goal; Nicholas Estrada, 7 ground balls.

Congratulations to Whatcom, and the best wishes from all of us at Stanwood for the playoffs. Win a bunch for the conference, guys!
Away Notes:
It was the Mud Bowel this evening! Between sliding and slipping in the game the teams had an intense game. Both teams played hard until the end, Whatcom pulled ahead early and continued to have a good passing game throughout.

Whatcom record: 8-5-0
Stanwood record against Whatcom: 0-2-0
