Home Notes:
The first playoff game of 2008.

Nathan Hale’s Kevin Harkey scored first. Northshore returned with two by Taylor Wisman off feeds from Foster Wisman and Bowen Hadley. Northshore drew a penalty on a feed from Jake Dossett to Bowen Hadley. Northshore converted on a Scott Barclay feed to Taylor Wisman, to take a 3-goal lead. Nathan Hale’s Nathan Cook came back to score two in the closing 1.5 minutes, ending the first quarter at 4-3.

The second saw more scores in favor of Northshore from a variety of players.and one high hit on Mitch Langdon by Nathan Hale’s Nathan Cook. Foster Wisman turned that EMO into another score. The first half ended in favor of Northshore 8-5.

Foster Wisman opened the scoring in the 3rd period with a rip from just inside the box, Northshore’s only unassisted goal of the night. Northshore was in the penalty box 4 times in the period, with one conversion by Nathan Hale’s David Shiplett. Each team scored twice in the period, ending at 10-7.

The 4th started with a Jake Dossett goal on a feed from Bowen Hadley. Some strange action when Nathan Hale’s Nathan Cook was stick-checked by three NS players and the ball did not come out. A three-minute non-releasable for a pinched stick, followed by unnecessary roughness by Josh Arndt hitting Matt Thomas high from behind landed 2 in the box. Somehow Nathan Hale’s Ian Harvey managed to score on 2-man down. Northshore’s Jake Dossett scored one and assisted Foster Wisman on one more. A late goal by Nathan Hale’s David Shiplett was not enough as time ran out with NS ahead 12-9.

Great game. Except for the first goal, Northshore took and held a two or three goal cushion most of the way, with offense coming from many. Solid defense and high intensity on midfield shut down the Nathan Hale shooters.
