Playoff Loss (8 - 16) vs Issaquah View

Richland 2-3-1-2- 8

A tad on the warm side, but an overall beautiful day and some great playoff action in Richland.

Despite Issaquah controlling the opening minutes, it was the Bombers that struck first as on their first possession, Matt Hoffman quickly asserted himself with a lefty wrap around.

Issaquah responded quikcly, Matt Moss an inside roll and finish down low. Spencer Berntsen then scored two in a row, the first man-up and the second a simple solo alley dodge. Issaquah had the ball back with under a minute in the quarter, but a save allowed the Bombers to capitalize and pull one back with under 10 seconds in the quarter.

In the second quarter, Issaquah struggled to adjust to zone defense but Matt Moss became the zone buster. The first with a worm burner that stung the far corner. The second by forcing his way inside the zone from just below GLE and stuffing it. With Issaquah seemingly in control at 5-2, Richland went on their best run of the day scoring 3 unanswered. The last of these came in highlight fashion as Matt Hoffman brought the home crowd to their feet with a pretty behind the back goal to finish an end to end transition. It was certainly the goal of the game and seemed to point to this game staying even to the finish. Issaquah had other ideas as their own #22 got to work to recapture momentum. Two straight goals from Cody Liddle put Issaquah back on top and it proved to be a huge turning point.

Berntsen and Liddle each completed their hat-tricks in the 3rd quarter while a big Morton to Dillon goal in transition put Issaquah up half a dozen to close the quarter. No let up in the 4th as Issaquah advanced to the Quarterfinals!

A career high 8 groundballs and excellent faceoff work from John Batura while Cody Liddle finished his career day with 4g,3a.
