Playoff Win (2 - 1) vs Padres View
Date: 6/11/2003 5:00p
Location: Witter
League Summary:
This is a best-of-3 series:
Gm 1: Astros 10 Padres 7
Gm 2: Padres 3 Astros 2
Gm 3: AStros 13 Padres 1
Home Notes:
For the second straight playoff game, the Astros used the 1st inning as a launching pad for victory, this time a 5 run rally put the Astros up early, and as it turned out, for good. Kani, Aaron and Spencer all reached safely, setting the stage for the Big Dog (Sean) and Big T (Theodus)to bring them home. Bryce added an RBI single, and armed with a 5-0 lead, he then took the mound and kept the Padres in check for the most part, allowing 3 run through 4 innings. But the Padres had reason to be optimistic. They had brought their bats and they closed the gap to 5-2 before the 'Stros rallied to stretch the lead to 9-3. Undaunted, the Padres battled back some more, and finally closed to within 9-7, before Astro closer Spencer shut the door in the final two frames, while adding a big insurance run with a base hit, and then scoring as Sean drove him home. Defensive specialist Daniel (DK!) made the plays in the field and added a couple of hits. The series moves to Monday evening at Caldecott, as the Astros will be looking to close out the Padres, who will no doubt have a different plan.

Padres record: 9-7-0
