Providence scored quickly in the first, followed by a clearing goal by Cooper Woolston on a feed from Mat Quackenbush. Providence then answered back with unassisted goals by Calab Moisant and Bryce Hummel. Hale finished the first quarter with a goal by Riley Johnson fading to the right, followed quickly by a left-handed frozen-rope goal by Alex Wright. End of first quarter score 3-3.
The two teams traded goals, keeping within one goal of each other throughout the second quarter. Will Snider took control from behind the crease with a goal and assist. Nathan Hale built a two goal advantage after three quarters, with 3 goals by Snider. A quick goal in the fourth quarter by Matthew Morris brought Providence to within one. The remainder of the quarter was contested back and forth without goals. Alex Wright ran the ball for most of the final two minutes, successfully keeping Providence from getting a chance to equal the score. The game concluded with back and forth clears by both teams in the final 20 seconds. Andrew McCall came up big for Hale in the goal with 16 saves, 5 in the last quarter.
