Coach Corbin  7/19/2003 7:29:00 PM  Email	To all players wishing to tryout for a SCAHA Midgets team 17 & under, the Bakersfield Dragons are currently trying to put together a second Midgets team. Anyone interested should contact Coach Steve Corbin at 661-393-7999 (hm), 661-327-1632 (wk) or 661-747-5957 (cell) or see me at the Ice Station during our practice Sunday evening. I am the present coach of the Hurricanes. There will be a parent/player meeting Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at Papa O's Pizza, 4750 Coffee Road, Bakersfield at 6:00pm to 7:00pm. This is to see how many maybe interested and if there is enough interest to put this second team together. It appears we may have enough already for about half a team. DM  7/8/2003 9:23:00 PM  Email	All, This msg board should be used more constructively. The focus here should be on team concerns. This is a team sport. The operative word being team. Stick together as a team and the results will show. We all realize that Smitherton is an idiot and anything coming out of his computer ramblings should be ignored. Does anybody here really want to banter with someone who is dealing from half a loaf? The league is pretty balanced. The recent additions to each team could be questioned, but the league (ice station) does what it has to do to generate funds to keep operating I suppose. Fair play, decent officiating and spirited play will give us an exciting season. This is what it is all about. To awesomedude: Your recent comments have been noted. Bet you don't have the fortitude to make those same comments to her face!!! She'd probably kick your butt!!!! By the way, I give her a lot of credit by competing with the boys. Kelly  7/7/2003 2:45:00 PM  Email	While I really enjoy a good discussion on the message boards, I really hate to see all this anger and hostility and, as Coach Reiner says, we shouldn't stoop to this level of um, well, chat (a term I use loosely but of which I am guilty of as well in times past). Anyway, Shaun and Patty and everyone else that is involved here, don't upset yourself. This Smitherton guy (and his second namesake...it IS the same person) is probably just some teen with poor social graces that wants to rile folks up. He's been around for a while and has posted a lot of insulting posts on a lot of different boards. But truly, he's not worth even raising an eyebrow at. By reacting, you are giving him exactly what he's looking for and you are playing directly into his hand. To "Mr. Smitherton": Here's my challenge to you. I actually enjoy the intelligence you show in your posts. You are extremely articulate and make your points well. How about actually starting up a lively discussion about subjects like what our teams can do to improve themselves or topics such as what the league and league management can do to make the leagues more fair. One poster here says girls shouldn't be playing hockey. While this poster's reasons aren't particularly valid, I think it's an interesting topic. Why not start up a discussion that really means something and not just a bunch of name calling? I know I'd really enjoy that and I know a lot of other folks would too. By the way, I have to say that for anyone, for any reason to call any of our league kids a bunch of "lazy slobs" and other names I saw here on these boards, is just really reprehensible. I'm not responding to Mr. Smitherton by saying this. I just want the kids to know this: You all ROCK and bring us parents tons of enjoyment watching you do what we can't do any longer if ever we could. I hope you don't let the ramblings of a few sour grapes disillusion you. Keep up the excellent athleticism!!! posted by H20SkiGal@myway.com

Spelling is not a sign of intelligence....the most intelligent people in history did not know how to spell..... I did look over my posting and realized I did mis-spell one word. I found it rather comical to see that there was a mis-spelled word in your posting. I don't think that spelling and grammer should be an issue here. I hope in the future postings are written with a little more maturity and consideration. posted by pseaton@hartdistrict.org
