Minors Division:
Slash-bunts, (where the batter shows bunt, then reloads and hits normally as the 3rd baseman is charging in) are not safe at this age. Do not allow your batters to do this.

Ongoing rules discussion:
Several Mangers in Minors and Majors have seen the need for ongoing discussion about rules and interpretations in addition to the general 'points of emphasis' distributed before the season. Please add comments and any differences of opinion will be forwarded to the TSLL Ump-in-Chief for a ruling.
Thanks,
--Tom Brown, Minors Div. Director

1. A batted ball which gets tangled in an outfield fence or a Sponsor’s banner is a ground rule double. Runners on base advance 2 bases, so a runner on first does not come home.
2. A thrown ball which rolls under the foul-line fences is dead, the runners advance to the next base.
3. A runner must run to the RIGHT of the first base line for the last 30 feet. If his body interferes with a fielders throw or the first baseman’s view he his out, the ball is dead
4. A fielder handling a grounder or moving to do so has the right-of-way, the runner must avoid him. (If the fielder is deep it is acceptable to run to the left of the fielder)
5. A runner who touches a batted ball is out (including his own if he is out of the batters box, running toward first)
6. The Ump is part of the field. A passed ball which is behind him is unlucky, but the Ump is not required to jump out of the Catcher’s way.
7. Batters must back up out of the way of the action if a runner on third attempts a steal on a passed ball to avoid an interference call (Majors only)
8. Infielders may NOT stand in the base runners path or move into a base-stealers path except when making a tag after achieving possession of the ball or when fielding a batted ball. ( see #4 above)
9. A batter who leans into the strike zone and is hit by a pitch will receive a called strike, not a free trip to first
10. Pitchers cannot touch their mouths or lick their fingers when on the mound. They can when off the mound.
11. Pitchers cannot toss the ball in the air while getting ready to wind up
12. Pitchers cannot wear white-sleeved shirts or wrist bands of any color.
