2019-2020 Fall/Winter Season

20 Regular Season Games

PLAN 1:
Cost: $640(If paid in full at Registration)
PLAN 2:
Cost: $670(If using the Payment Plan)

2) $320 due November 15th, 2019.

PLAN 3:

$310 due at Registration
$245 due November 15th, 2019.
$125 due February 1st, 2020.




Players electing the Payment Plan must complete the Credit Card Information Section.
Any enrollments(Payment Plan) received without this information will be deemed invalid and not registered. No Exceptions.

Valencia Senior Hockey League - Rules:

SUB Rule: As agreed upon at the 2019 Spring/Summer Team Rep Meeting, each team is now permitted to have 2 SUBS on their roster. Last day for SUB enrollment is 3/31/2019 for Levels, 3,4,5A & 5B. OVER 35, last day for SUB enrollment is 4/18/2019.
ONCE a SUB is on the roster, he can register as a regular for a prorated amount but a new SUB cannot be selected if after the deadline.

New Rules for 2019-2020 Fall/Winter Season:

A player receiving 3 penalties in a game - GAME EJECTION - No Suspension for the next game.

If a player receives 3 Fighting Majors - He will be removed from the league.

REFEREE OPTION: One warning required.
If a player is on his way to Rule 601 ABUSE OF OFFICIAL -
The referee will give the player a PLAYER EJECTION - No suspension for the next game.


Effective August 24th, 2014 at the Team Rep Meeting, USA Hockey Rule 615(a) is supplemented as follows:

A major plus a 3 game misconduct shall be assessed to any player who engages in fighting.

A new rule adopted by the Team Representatives on March 14th, 2006 at the Team Rep Meeting was to eliminate the 2 line pass effective the 2006 Spring/Summer Season.

Level I 40+ (Original 6) League Rules adopted for the 2007-08 Fall/Winter
Season at the Team Representative Meeting, Wednesday, August 29th, 2007.

All minor penalties are to be served until a goal is scored by the opponent or the time of the infraction has expired. This is consistent with all other divisions in the Valencia Senior Hockey League.

NEW Rule - 10 Games to Qualify for Playoffs

All teams participating with a TEAM PAYMENT must have all PLAYERS registered in at least 10 regular season games in order to qualify for the post-season playoffs. The 10 game minimum is not applicable to GOALIES.

All teams participating with INDIVIDUAL PAYMENT PLANS have to be registered for 10 games in order to qualify for the post-season playoffs. The 10 game minimum is not applicable to GOALIES.

Since OVER 35(Previously OVER 40) has a reduced schedule of 16 games, a minimum of 5 registered games are required to qualify for playoffs. The 5 games is not applicable to GOALIES.

Suspensions/Game Misconduct

1st offense : $15
2nd offense : $30
3rd offense: $30 Suspended from League pending a hearing to review circumstances.

WEARING ANOTHER PLAYER'S JERSEY:

If it is discovered by the officials that a non-rostered/unregistered/non-paid player is caught wearing a rostered player's jersey,
the contest becomes an automatic forfeit and the Team Rep is suspended for the next 2 games.

If a Suspended Player is caught wearing another player's jersey in a contest, the Suspended player will be ejected from the League for the balance of the season.

Effective 4/21/02 teams with players who either don't have a proper number attached to their jersey, or are not properly registered with the Valencia Senior Hockey League, will be subject to forfeiting their games until compliance is reached.

IF YOU PLAY IN A GAME WITHOUT REGISTERING AND PAYING LEAGUE FEES - YOUR TEAM WILL BE SUBJECT TO AN AUTOMATIC FORFEIT.


Players names and jersey numbers must correspond and be reflected on the scoresheet. It is imperative that Team Representatives and/or players identify to the scorekeeper if there is a discrepancy. Please notify the Hockey Department at (661) 775-8686 extension 230 with any roster and player number changes.


Effective the fourth regular season game for the Fall/Winter 2007-08 season, all teams are required to have 2 sets of matching jerseys. If you are the home team, you are required to wear a light jersey. If you are the away team, you are required to wear a dark jersey. Each team is required to have one set of matching socks.

Effective this 2011-12 Fall/Winter Season, players and Team Representatives are now allowed to play in multiple levels with prior approval of the Hockey Department.



League Guidelines

The VSHL is a non-check league keeping in mind that ice hockey is a contact sport.

The VSHL will not schedule games on the following holidays:

New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve.

League Dues:

League dues will vary based on the number of games scheduled in the current season. Please refer to the seasonal contract (registration form) for details.

It is the responsibility of the player and Team Representative to ensure that league dues and fines are promptly paid to the scorekeeper before the start game. Team Representatives should review his/her team roster on the scoresheet prior to game time to provide the scorekeeper with any relevant team personnel information.

Rosters and Player Placements.

Each team is required to have a full roster of 15 paid players excluding the Team Representative. If a team has elected to pay the "Team Registration Fee", they are not subject to the above mentioned 15 paid player minimum.

Teams with incomplete rosters (rosters < 15 paid players) will be supplemented with players from the league waiting list.

Refunds: Absolutely NO REFUNDS


Game Length:

Regular Season Format:
1st and 2nd periods, 20 minute running time;
last minute of each period - stop time.
3rd period, first ten minutes running time,
last ten minutes, stop time.

Each team is allowed one 30 second time-out.
A one (1) minute break between periods will be in effect excluding overtime.

In the event of a tie, a 3 minute, stop time, sudden death 4 on 4 overtime period will be played in ALL DIVISIONS.

If a goal is scored in overtime, the winning team will be allocated 2 points and the losing team will receive 1 point in the standings.

Regular season - a game tied at the end of overtime shall proceed to a 3 man Shoot-out.

If a six goal margin exists at any time after the last 10 minute mark of the third period, the mercy rule(Running Time) will be implemented. This remains consistent until the end of the game even if the margin decreases from six.

PLAYOFF OVERTIME - ALL DIVISIONS
(New Rule for 2011-12 Fall/Winter Season)
At the end of Regulation Time during a Playoff Game, A 5 on 5 Man Situation will result during a 10 Minute Running-Time Sudden Death period. If this situation remains tied a 5 Man Shootout will occur to determine a winner.

Should two teams finish tied in the standings during the regular season, the following tie-breaker will be implemented to determine the higher standing:

1 - Most wins.
2 - Superior head-to-head record based on points.
3 - Superior league goal differential.
4 - The team with the fewest penalty minutes.


Penalties and Fines:

Each Minor Penalty is applied as 2 minutes towards the 40/70 minute threshold.

Players accumulating 40 or more penalty minutes prior to the end of the regular season will be suspended for 1 game and subject to a $15 fine.

Players accumulating 70 or more penalty minutes in a season are immediately suspended for the remainder of the current season and must submit a letter of reinstatement to the Ice Station Hockey Department prior to the commencement of the following season for approval.

Modifications to USA Hockey Rules:

A team receiving a penalty will be required to host the face off in their zone as punishment for receiving the infraction.

All minor penalties are three minutes during running time consistent up to the 50 minute mark. If a penalty is assessed prior to the 10 minute mark of the 3rd period, it remains a 3 minute penalty. All minor penalties are two minutes during the last ten minutes and regular season overtime if stop time is in effect.

Effective October 5th, 2004, a 3 minute minor penalty shall be assessed to a player's cumulative penalty minutes when a penalty shot is awarded.




Team Representative Requirements:

Team Representatives are required to maintain a full roster which includes 15 paid players plus the Team Rep(Total of 16 players including goalie).


RE: Consupmtion of alcoholic beverages in locker rooms and parking lot

NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL IS TO BE BROUGHT INTO OR CONSUMED ANYWHERE ON ICE STATION PROPERTY AT ANY TIME. IF A PLAYER OR TEAM IS CAUGHT VIOLATING THIS POLICY, THE OFFENDING PLAYERS AND TEAM REP WILL BE SUSPENDED FOR A MINIMUM OF 3 GAMES FOR THE FIRST OFFENSE AND THE BALANCE OF THE SEASON FOR ANY SUBSEQUENT OFFENSE.

ANY SPECTATOR CAUGHT WITH OUTSIDE ALCOHOL WILL BE ASKED TO IMMEDIATELY LEAVE ICE STATION AND WILL BE SUBJECT TO PERMANENT REMOVAL FROM THE PREMISES.
