2017 H.S. Hockey League - Rules of Eligibility | |
The eligibility guidelines for players participating in the High School Hockey League are as follows: 1) All players must show proof of and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA in order to participate. - All players must provide a copy of the following: 2) Student Identification 3) Birth Certificate 4) Proof of USA Hockey Membership TEAMS: Vikings - Players must attend either Valencia High School or live within the geographic area known as Valencia or Castaic. Centurions - Players must attend Saugus High School and/or live within the demographic area known as Saugus. Cowboys - Players must attend Canyon High School and/or live with the demographic area known as Canyon Country. For the 2017 Season we are consolidating the Indians and Northerners with the Cowboys. West Ranch - Players must attend West Ranch High School and/or live within the demographic area of Newhall or Stevenson Ranch. Northerners - Players must attend High School in the Antelope Valley School District or live within the demographic areas known as Pearblossom, Palmdale, Quartz Hill, Lancaster. For the 2017 Season, these players will be joining the Cowboys team. Bakersfield - Players must attend High School in the Bakersfield District or live within the demographic area known as Bakersfield. West Valley - Players must attend High School or live in the San Fernando Valley including The western geographical boundaries of Agoura Hills, Calabassas and Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley and Moorpark. Burbank - The Burbank Cougars recently cancelled it's entry. REPLACEMENT TEAM - TEAM USA. Pasadena - Players must attend High School in cities surrounding Pasadena or live within the demographic area known as Pasadena. IF A PLAYER LIVES IN A PARTICIPATING SCHOOL'S DISTRICT, BUT ATTENDS CLASSES ELSEWHERE, HE MUST TRYOUT FOR THE SCHOOL DISTRICT IN WHICH HE LIVES. Players who attend private schools and are home schooled can be eligible to play for the above mentioned teams if they live in a specific district of one of those teams. (Example: A Bowman student can play for Hart if he lives in the Hart School District) Players who are not selected for their respective High School Team will be eligible to enter the High School Supplemental Player Draft. PLEASE NOTE: Placement for all players in the Ice Station High School Hockey League is subject to League approval. Ice Station High School League Administrators reserve the right to amend eligibility rules in the best interest of the League and have final approval on all player placements. |
