Mondays 3/3:05-4:00 Auditorium $215 8 classes December 3, 10, 17 January 7, 14, 28 February 4, 11 No class on Dec 24, Dec 31, and Jan 21 (MLK Day) In hip hop creative dance, students will deepen their imaginations by using their senses as tools for self-expression. They’ll explore movement and music in creative games that make them critically think about and respond to feelings, actions, characters, sounds, colors, environments and more! Students learn moves, patterns, names and origins of street dance styles from around the the U.S. and across 50 years of hip hop culture. We focus on fundamentals of musicality, footwork, waving, popping, breakdancing, old school hip hop and contemporary styles being created by their generation. Students will listen to familiar and unfamiliar music, while building skills individually and as group collaborators. They’ll develop their confidence, kinesthetic awareness, musical sensibilities, athletic abilities and overall mind-body-emotional connections. Min 10 Max 20
