Description	Math for All Instructor: Diana Miller Cost: $550 Students will learn how to engage with children using active and prepared math lessons, and then present their own multi-sensory lessons to Oakland youth, ages 5-12. Time will be split between the classroom at PHS and teaching/volunteering at the Oakland Youth Center. PHS students will explore the various ways in which children from all backgrounds move at their own pace from the concrete to the abstract while learning math.Kinesthetic learning will be emphasized. Mindfulness, leadership, and empathy are just some of the intangible goals of this three week course.Discussions of how economic inequities can affect educational outcomes will be discussed, including how their participation in this program can make a difference.
