Dear Senior Games Cyclists,
Here is the most up to date information about the Cycling event this weekend April 2 & 3 from Frank Scioscia our Cycling Sport Chair. Please note the time information for arrivals.

Athlete Check in will begin at 6:30 a.m.

Dear Cycling Competitors,

Long time in coming, but at last given the permitting process is solved we finally have definitive news about your events this weekend. As a bonus the weather finally looks to have taken a turn for the better and we are likely out of the rain.

The significant change from what has been posted is that on Sunday you will only do a single road race of 30k. (Of course request for refunds will be granted to those who registered for both road races.)

Doing a single road race allows us to avoid too much interaction with Bicycle Sunday which could pose safety problems.

A 30km road race is the happy compromise for folks interested in either distance. It provides a true athletic test of both distances. So while it might not match with the standard Senior Games distances it in the athletic spirit of the Games and provides athletes with the proper preparation for Nationals.

Here are particulars:

Arriving at 6:30 will eliminate stressing yourself out. Make it easy on yourself.

Parking, registration, restrooms, and the start-line are all at north end of Canada Road near intersection with Highway 92.

Get a good map out as it requires a little extra effort to get to Canada Road when exiting off of Interstate 280 onto Highway 92.

Please park so as to accommodate as many cars as possible. Please do not park immediately after the finish line. Let's keep that area clear for safety of the riders.

Race course is closed to car traffic, but ride heads up just the same. Be aware of non-racer bicycle traffic especially on Sunday as Canada Road is reserved for all cyclist to use on Bicycle Sunday.
