Description Soccer America Camps' spring break program at Mills College (Coed, ages 6-12) focuses on the game's most important and exciting skill: scoring GOALS. The full-day session is from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Under the guidance of Camp Director Venus James, who won pro championships in the USA and in Europe, a FUN week of soccer will help children master what it takes to hit the net: Striking the ball with pace & accuracy, shooting on the turn, free kicks & penalty kicks, dribbling tricks to get into scoring position, and passing to set up goals.

Venus, one of the most successful players Oakland has ever produced, played youth soccer with the Bay Oaks before starring at UCLA, where she scored 30 goals and helped the Bruins to a NCAA Division I runner-up finish in 2000. She won WUSA titles with the San Jose CyberRays and the Carolina Courage, and Swedish titles with Djurgarden/Alvjso, with which she finished runner-up in the 2005 European Cup. Venus has coached Bay Area youth and high school soccer.

The Camp's other coaches include Bay Oaks coach Robin Bowman.

Robin starred at San Francisco State, which she led in scoring her senior year while helping the Gators win their first CCAA regular-season conference title and earn a bid to the NCAA Division II championship tournament. She also won San Francisco State's Arete Award (Most Outstanding Student-Athlete of the Year). Robin has also coached high school ball.
