Game Summary | BULLS NIP SUGAR KINGS 8-6 On a hot Sunday morning, 3/14/04, the Bulls played a nip & tuck AAA game against the Sugar Kings. The Bulls won the closely contested game 8-6. There were several lead changes & after 3 innings the score was tied at 5-5. Ben DL pitched 2 strong innings & was relieved by Joshua S. Most of the early runs both teams scored were pushed across by a combination of singles, walks, & stolen bases. Neither team dominated as the pitching was strong for both of them. For the Sugar Kings, Gabriel D’A was a strong middle-reliever, allowing the Sugar Kings to pull ahead 6-5 in the 5th inning. The Bulls came to bat in the top of the 6th inning needing a rally. Two walks, a double by Khalif M, & several stolen bases & a few overthrows gave the Bulls 3 runs in the inning. For the Bulls, Khalif M was the closer, pitching the 5th & 6th innings, striking out 5 batters & finishing strong. The Bulls fought hard for this victory, & congratulated the Sugar Kings on a well-played game! |
