| Game Summary | Monarchs 11 Muckdogs 8 The Muckdogs starting pitcher, John T, started out strong, striking out three of the first four batters he faced and held the Monarchs scoreless for two innings. Dane VG tripled in the Muckdogs first run. At the top of the third, with the score Muckdogs 2 Monarchs 0, the Monarchs roared back and scored 4 runs. Aaron H's astute baserunning, stealing second on a walk, led the charge for the Monarchs. Tyler F and Cooper H scored on Kai H's triple. Alex R contributed to the Monarchs defense, fooled the runner and tagged him out, to cap an unassisted double play. Phil H of the Monarchs hit a triple in the sixth and scored the Monarchs' final run. With the Muckdogs threatening, the score 11 to 8 and two outs, Kai H, playing first, speared a hard grounder to his right and Andrew M, the Monarchs' relief pitcher, covered first in a textbook play to get the out and end the game. |
