Team Summaries	Chandler Wolves Notes: Hats off to an Xtreme team whose hustle, sportsmanship and teamwork was simply second to none. In the end, it was a oustanding individual effort from midfielder Abel Haro that did the X-men in. Haro had 5 goals that all seemed to come right when the X-men were starting to gain momentum. While the X-men long sticks gave the Chandler attack fits, the Wolf offense of Weissert, Hibdon and Kapron returned the favor with a relentless ride all afternoon. On defense, the Wolves were lead by defenseman Joey Wussler and midfielder James Cappuccio who broke up numerous plays on the crease and turned plays around with tenacious ground ball play. The Xtreme got a phenomal performance from freshman goalkeeper, Ben Kagen, who turned away numerous opportunities from the Wolves transition game that seemed like sure goals. The one-on-one defense of Matt Burke and Danny Barrasso took the Wolves attack by surprise at first and never let up until the final whistle. Midfielders Kevin Sanders and Frankie Armenta seemed to have an endless supply of energy, quarterbacking the X-men's clearing game and settled offense. This game was a hard fought battle that provided an excellent opening act to the Knox doubleheader. Tucson Xtreme Notes: TUCSON XTREME TAKES ANOTHER STEP FORWARD IN DEFEAT Hey, it’s a Saturday in the Old Pueblo! Why not get back on the bus (5th time) one more time this season and head up to Chandler, AZ. While the professionals are hunting Wildcats in mountains of Tucson the X-Men headed north to stalk Wolves. The result: The Tucson Xtreme got bagged itself in a 10-6 win by the Chandler HS Wolves. However, there is a bright side to this story and maybe, just maybe, provides a hint of things to come. The game was easily Tucson’s best effort of the season in a losing cause. The Xpectation is that we have overcome some of the problems that have been plaguing the team all season. We’ve been reading all season how Coach Dave Henning’s Chandler Wolves had been in the thick of the Top 10 State rankings. How they’ve got their work cut out for them making it to the playoffs with no mention of a possible spoiler roll in sight. The X-Men came into the game with back to back losses to the two teams that played for the 2003 State Championships. Tired of getting pushed around, we changed our philosophy with a game plan that had included both barrels loaded and hunting Wolves. Much to their credit, Chandler bent some but wouldn’t break indicating they are a legit threat in the 2004 playoff scene and a young squad to be reckoned with in the future. After the game, the two teams shared pizza hosted by an Xtremely gracious Wolves Booster Club and talked about the beginning of a solid, healthy rivalry.
