| Team Summaries | Curtis Notes: Friday Night Fights describes it all. Bellarmine came out of the gate ready to play. Jumping to a 3 to 0 lead just over half way into the first qtr. Curtis finally responded with 5 minutes left. Bellarmine wanted to keep it at 3 tallying their 4th goal of the qtr. with 2:31 left. Curtis won the ensuing face off putting one in with 1:26 left to finish the scoring for the 1st qtr. Bellarmine 4 - Curtis 2. Curtis put one in early in the 2nd bringing it within one. Then both teams settled into solid defense with quarter ending 2 to 2 for a half time score of Bellarmine 6 - Curtis 4. The second half continued with back and forth play. Curtis scored 5 minuets in to bring it within one. Bellarmine responded 1:30 later. Curtis came right back when Jake Long took control of the game putting in his second consecutive goal for Curtis one minute after. Then A.J. Gilbert put his second goal in tying the game up with 2:44 to go in the 3rd. Bellarmine face off specialist won the next face and brought it down for a fast break score by Max Stewart to take the lead again. 3rd Quarter ending Bellarmine 8 Curtis 7. Curtis Layne Boies won the face to open the fourth making a great down field pass to A.J. Gilbert who made a strong bull dodge and stung the corner to tie the game 37 seconds into the 4th. Bellarmine responded with a goal - 9:46 left to take the lead again. Curtis settled in and ran a ball movement offense hitting Jake Long to tie the game with 5:23 left. Curtis finally took the lead with 1:20 left in the game on another Jake Long cut and feed from Cam Mitchels. Senior Jake Long finishing with 6 of the 10 goals for Curtis, while Sophomore A.J. Gilbert showed his abilities putting in 3 goals on 3 shots stinging the corner on all three shots. Curtis Sophomore Layne Boies had a great night on the face off line neutralizing Bellarmine face off specialist winning 9 loosing 12. A cross town match up that was perfect for a Friday Night Game.
