Hard fought game. Great job staying in the game and battling to the final whistle. Good luck with the rest of your season.

Last year's contest between these two in Issaquah resulted in a dramatic, comeback overtime win for Snohomish. This year nearly provided a similar comeback but in a far crazier manner and under far different circumstances.

A good evenly matched contest all first half saw teams tied at 3 with under a minute to play - then things got weird. Snohomish came out of a time out and a flurry of flags eventually resulted in a strange delay of game call and the ejection of Issaquah head coach. As such, Snohomish opened the 2nd half two men up and a 3 minute non-releasable penalty. The Panthers pounced, scoring four during this time and adding another shortly after to take command 8-3 into the 4th.

Snohomish scored first in the 4th to take a 9-3 lead and the game seemed all but decided. Issaqauh continued to turn the ball over and appeared defeated by all accounts. With less than 4 minutes to play, freshman, Cody Liddle broke the ice a bit and his goal sparked Issaquah to a crazy run. Gaje Gunter won every faceoff and in the span of 2:27 Issaquah had rattled off 5 straight goals to flip the game upside down, 9-8 with 1:28 to play. Gunter won another faceoff and Issaquah managed three more shots over the next minute but couldn't find cage. With just 26 seconds left called timeout and one last opportunity but couldn't find the equalizer. 9-8 Snohomish for the 2nd year in a row.
