Issaquah opened the game like a deer in headlights and quite frankly looked out matched in the first quarter as Bothell easily dipped past defenders for a couple doorstep finishes. A well executed fastbreak goal has Issaquah burning a timeout down 3-0 less than 6 minutes into the game. The timeout seemed to do little to help as Bothell followed with another assisted finish. To make matters worse for Issaquah, James Rauch exited late in the 1st quarter, never to return. The situation seemed bleak.

Freshman, Gaje Gunter managed an ever so important goal as time expired in the first quarter, an unassisted tally that proved to be the spark Issaquah needed. Gunter also began winning faceoffs and slowly Issaquah chipped away. Two goals a piece from Jared Humenny and Max Dahlquist in the 2nd quarter, and some renewed intensive focus on the defensive end pushed Issaquah to a 5-4 halftime lead!

In the second half, Issaquah kept composure and took advantage of some over aggressive play from Bothell finishing multiple man-up opportunities and pulling away. Jared Humenny scored three of those man-up tallies as he registered 5 in the second half for a career high 7 goal night. Colby Andersen added two big 2nd half goals as well.

On the defensive end, Daniel Davis made saves while the poles checked several balls to the ground allowing Issaquah to win multiple big groundball opportunities.

12-1 Issaquah after the 1st quarter, a huge league win for the purple and gold!
