| Team Summaries | Lugnuts Notes: The Lugnuts managed the tough feat of controlling the Grasshoppers offense and battled their way to hard-won victory. David closed down the game with three great innings of shutdown pitching, but it was EJ who led the team overall with impressive play as pitcher and as shortstop. He contributed three innings of excellent pitching, giving up only one run, and as shortstop he played flawless defense in play after play – in one case, gunning down a Grasshopper runner at home plate and turning the momentum of the game around. (Another important play on that score: Maxie at catcher nabbing, with help from Kellen at third, a Grasshopper trying to steal that base.) On the hitting side, David, Nathan, and Maxwell all contributed key hits, sparking the rallies that put the Lugnuts on top. Grasshoppers Notes: |
