Lugnuts Notes:
An early-morning Spring Break game saw two stripped-down teams – 8 Lugnuts, 9 Threshers – battle back and forth. The Lugnuts offense came alive in the first inning, sparked by an impressive home run by Elijah. Throughout the game, the Lugnuts defense was solid and tight, keeping all the balls struck by the Threshers in the infield and holding the Threshers’ baserunners tight to their bags. Two Lugnuts -- Lucas and Zach -- courageously took the mound for the first time. Despite good at-bats in every inning, the Lugnuts had their bats baffled at key moments by Thresher pitchers, and when the dust had cleared, they found themselves a run short. In all, a well-played game on a beautifully balmy spring day.
