| Team Summaries | Lugnuts Notes: Today’s game was a very competitive duel between two teams that both played well. On the Lugnuts side, the key to their success was good defense, as the Volcanoes’ hitters were making a good amount of solid contact. In the infield, first base proved to be a surprisingly ‘hot corner’, and there were a number of fine plays made by Jake and Maxwell there. In the outfield, there were two great plays. Elijah made an excellent stop on a ball in right field and rifled it to Zach at first base, who made a good catch for an unexpected out; and Maxie made an outstanding leaping back-handed catch on a sizzling line drive by Dorian of the Volcanoes. Pitching was also a strength, with great innings from David, Leo (who retired the side on only 6 pitches!), Maxwell, Elijah, and EJ. All in all, a fabulous team effort by the Lugnuts against a tough opponent. Volcanoes Notes: |
