A hard one to describe since it started on April 20 and finished May 9th.
Issaquah had built the original 6-1 lead on the strength of remarkable individual efforts from Ryan Egland. Issaquah held a 3-0 lead after 1st. Jake Lindahl scored solo to push to 4-0 before Bellevue got its first but Issaquah closed the first half with a great end to end transition goal - Jake Collins with the strip, Devin Tamblyn with the gb, moved it to Cody Klansnic who found Egland for the 5-1 lead as he completed the first half hat-trick. Issaquah had controlled the game in part to James Rauch controlling the faceoffs.
Despite some sloppiness in the 3rd quarter, Issaquah managed a man-up tally when Kyle Wisler handled inside and finsihed on a feed from Riley Richards.
Play was suspended with 1:54 to go in the 3rd quarter due to several lightning strikes painting the sky.
When play resumed weeks later, Bellevue came out with a new lineup and a renewed energy, especially in the riding game. Inevitably, everyone knew Bellevue had a run in them, but Issaquah literally was hanging on for dear life. As much as Issaquah had Bellevue on the ropes back in April, Bellevue was absolutely pummeling Issaquah on the restart. Issaquah simply could not clear the ball and struggled to win any faceoffs. Dondoyano continued to make saves but Bellevue had 70% of the possession and crawled all the way back to tie it at 6 with five minutes to play. Issaquah gathered itself and had enough in the tank to put together a great sequence with under two minutes left. Egland found Lindahl up top who ripped lower left to stop the bleeding and give Issaquah the lead back.
Issaquah earned possession of the ensuing faceoff after a procedure and called timeout with 50 seconds left. Out of the timeout they managed to burn just 10 seconds before turning the ball over. It chewed up some clock but Bellevue finally cleared and got a shot that went wide with 12 seconds left - timeout Bellevue.
Out of the timeout, two passes pushed the ball to Fratt and he managed to dip underneath and had a look but Dondoyano made a save with less than 5 seconds on the clock and the fight for the gb ran out the clock... another one goal win for Issaquah at Bellevue.
