Not many would have predicted such a low scoring affair with both teams averaging over 10 a game, but this one turned into an exciting defensive battle. An electric crowd was treated to a good show.

Issaquah got first quarter goals from Liam Colter and Jake Gonzalez while Skyline notched one before both defenses and keepers really dug in their heels. In a scoreless 2nd quarter Skyline owned time of possession. They were extremely patient and won back majority of any groundball opportunities, but Jordan Dondoyano kept the nets clean. Issaquah seldom had the ball, struggling to clear and squandering the ball away quickly in limited chances.

The third quarter was much the same, but Skyline was able to equalize when PJ Cox pushed in transition, drew a slide and moved it to Tyler Johnston on the wing. Johnston found a cutting Charlie Kurtenbach and the equalizer had the crowd jumping. Skyline's defense kept Issaquah off the board for the second straight quarter.

Not much changed in the 4th. Half way through the period, Issaquah seemed to have Skyline's Andy Hutchings stymied but he got his hands free enough to rip a sidearm bullet to the side net and give Skyline the lead with just under 7 minutes to play. Issaquah gathered themselves and with just over 4 minutes left pushed a flag down situation. Ryan Egland was able to wrap the cage and finish himself to tie it up. Each team had chances in the final 3 minutes but Skyline's Kuberski saved Issaquah first look. On Skyline's possession, Henry Dees came up with a huge strip and gb to give Issaquah one last chance with under 30 seconds, but Skyline's defense held.

In overtime, with Mikey Giannopulos cramping on the sideline, James Rauch won the biggest faceoff of his career and Issaquah immediately called timeout. On the first sequence out of the time out play was stopped as Skyline's PJ Cox went down with cramping issues of his own. With the two Division I commits on the sidelines looking on asplay resumed, Ryan Egland pushed from x and this time was able to skip it to Jake Lindahl on the backside. Lindahl buried it for the win 56 seconds into OT!
