It was a very even and intense game against a very good Shorecrest program. The score was tied at the end of every quarter, except the first quarter. Providence had a big night from Junior Aidan Walsh, who scored the first goal of the game and the last five goals for Providence, including the go-ahead goal with 1:51 left and the game winner, just 35 seconds into OT.
Providence was ahead by one and had the ball with 90 seconds to go, but could not keep it in the box. Shorecrest took the ball with 52 seconds left, and Ethan Jensen scored on a nice dodge across the top with 41 seconds to go. Shorecrest won the faceoff and worked it around for the final shot. They got a nice look with 6 seconds left, but Jackson Morris saved it and cleared it up-field. Alex Wartes won the OT faceoff for Providence. Matthew Morris had a strong dodge from X and a good shot, but it went wide. Providence kept the ball, worked it to the top and Aidan Walsh had an isolation dodge down the alley and buried the shot into the lower left corner of the net for the game-winner, just 35 seconds into OT.
Freshman Jackson Morris had 18 saves for Providence!!
