Team Summaries Issaquah Notes:
Mercer Island 4-2-1-3- 10
Issaquah 5-1-1-2- 9

Crowd was treated to the fantastic, exciting game they wanted. Unfortunately for Issaquah fans, not the result they wanted.

Issaquah played with incredible energy to open the game and in the last two minutes to bring it back. Sadly an inability to clear the ball much of the night swayed the time of possession well in Mercer's favor and the Islanders methodically pulled away too far for Issaquah to pull even.

Issaquah actually shot to a 3-0 lead inside the first 4 minutes of the game and had the home crowd in a frenzy. But the ever experienced Islanders calmy climbed right back into it and only a fluke tipped pass goal inside the last minute gave Issaquah a one goal advantage to close the quarter.

Mercer took its first lead of the night with 3 minutes left in the half as Issaquah before Liam Colter stuck one for Issaquah to pull even at half.

Mercer ownded the 3rd quarter as well and slowly built a three-goal lead of their own. Issaquah closed the quarter with a goal to cut the deficit to two entering the 4th.

Mercer got the 3 goal lead back just inside 7 minutes to play and grinded much of the clock away. Under two minutes, Issaquah pressed out, doubled and won it back. Zack Fritz picked up a loose ball on the crease off a broken play and finished to give Issaquah hope with just under a minute to play. Issaquah won the next face. Matt Thomas first look at the cage hit the crossbar and went into the parking lot. He would score 15 seconds later and the crowd was in a frenzy again. But the clock was now showing just 10 seconds and Mercer won the ensuing faceoff to kill any thought Issaquah had of tying it.
