Team Summaries Cardinals Notes:
The Cardinal and Dodgers looked pretty good for the first game. The Cardinals made 5 consecutive outs to start the second inning. The Dodgers had equally good fielding as they did't give up a run until the 6th inning. The Dodgers also had a player crush the ball over the left fielders head for a home run. Both teams looked like they had fun and all the parents seemed to enjoy the game. It was good to get back out there. I didn't keep track of the pitches for my boys, but don't think any of them threw more than 20. See below for Cardinals pitchers.

Cardinals Pitchers:
Kieran B-S (21)
Oliver M (19)
Jacob C (22)
Nathan M (17)

Dodgers Notes:
The Dodgers scored first when Aiden led off the game with an IF single and scored on Nikhil’s lined double to CF.

The Dodgers faced some incredible defense in the 2nd and 3rd innings. Marku Atzin was robbed of a hit in the 2nd as the Cardinals retired 5 straight Dodgers on ground balls. Gabe ended the drought with a single but was stranded at third.

The Dodgers added a run in the 4th when Lucas and Leif singled, and Nikki blasted a run-scoring double to RF. In the 6th, Lucas belted a 3-run HR to LF, scoring Oliver and Nikhil.

The Dodgers’ defense was stellar for most of the game. In the 2nd inning, LF Colin fielded an apparent single and threw out the lead runner in a force at 3B. In the 3rd, SS Marku Atzin took a hit away from a Cardinal when he grabbed a grounder with one out and threw to Kalani at 2B to get the lead runner in a bang-bang play. In the 4th, 1B Jack took a vicious hopper in the face, then alertly grabbed the ball and beat the runner to the base to end the inning. jack remained in the game.

The Dodgers' pitchers were impressive, handing the ball over to the opposing team's coach just twice in 4 innings.
