Mudcats Notes:
A bit of a 'nail biter' on Saturday, but the Mudcats were able to hold on to beat a very tough Osprey team by a score of 9-7. Down 4-0 in the 1st, the Mudcats rallied to lead 9-5 heading into the bottom of the last. The Osprey battled back to score 2 runs to make it 9-7, and then load the bases, but Keeshan was able to close the door to seal the win. Three outstanding plays in the field for the Mudcats - first, a heads-up play by Nathaniel in the 2nd on a wild pitch to nail a runner from 3rd (and a great tag from Pat); second, with 1st and 3rd and 1 out in the 3rd inning, one of the Osprey smoked a ball to left field that Liam cruised over to snag and then doubled off the runner from 3rd who hadn't tagged up; and finally, in the last inning, after the 1st batter reached on a base hit, the 2nd hitter belted a high fly to right field that Alex reeled in (and he used his entire upper body to do it!) Great catch. Game ball to Nathaniel, who pitched 1 2/3 shutout innings and had 2 hits! Great job!
