| Team Summaries | Rockhounds Notes: A slow paced game today ended after the top of the 4th. Our pitchers gave up many walks but they were able to close out their innings with some nice strikeouts before things got out of hand. I’m beginning to think that they like to pitch in pressure situations! Once again, our offense put up enough runs to get the win. Rockhound team Rule #3 “Never Watch Strike 3” worked beautifully today when Ian earned an RBI after making contact when he was down two strikes. At first he was bummed about being thrown out at first but then the coaches pointed out to him that he drove our runner in from third. He broke a smile when he realized he picked up the RBI. A key component of the offensive attack was our aggressive baserunning which was in high gear today. We had many stolen bases and alert Rockhounds advanced several times when throws went to the opposite side of the field. What the boys appeared to enjoy the most though, was the Rockhound Family pizza party after the game out in left field. Thanks to our GM Abby Kaster for setting it up.
