Timber Rattlers Notes:
The T-Rats and Scorpions face off for the 2nd time, close on the heels of A's night. Both teams' coaches were concerned that some of their star pitchers were seen having fourths of the BBQ and some of their key defensive stoppers still might be hungover from latenight ballpark hot chocolates...

The kids were ready to go, tho! Just like the first meeting, ClaytonL and Rhino led the way on the mound. Both teams scratched and clawed to get on the scoreboard, with Fingers driving Lightning home for the T-Rats first score. After one, it was Scorpions 2-1. The T-Rats offense kicked in in the 2nd. Bamboo crushed an RBI single, and lots of heads up baserunning kept the pressure on until the score was 6-2.

The Scorpions wouldn't go away (hide under a desert rock?), plating a run in the 2nd and another in the 3rd to keep within reach. Mango and Chester were working hard on defense, backing up throws and making sure that little mistakes didn't become big ones.

Stub quieted things down allowing just one run on 33 pitches over 2 innings.

Other T-Rat highlights: Thunder went 2 for 2 in the late innings, both hits struck solidly down the LF line to score runs. Verne laid down a beautiful bunt, out on a close play at 1st. Wingles ended the game by starting (and ending) a nifty 5-4-5 rundown.
