It was a crowd pleaser from the get-go. Connor Christensen of Wenatchee scored first after getting a nice feed on the crease. But it was quickly answered by freshman Matthew Morris of Providence driving around the crease and laying it in. A couple of minutes later, Mitchell Parks scored for Wenatchee, but it was quickly answered by Bryce Hummel for Providence. It was tied at 3-3, when Wenatchee scored 4 unanswered goals in three minutes, three of the goals when they were man-up. In the second quarter, Providence came blazing back to take the lead at 9-7 at half time. Wenatchee worked their way back into the game in the third quarter, scoring four goals in a row. Beau Butaud of Providence caught the ball in traffic and scored with 1 second left to tie the game at 11-11 after three quarters. Caleb Moisant of Providence scored his fourth goal just over 1 minute into the fourth quarter. For a long time, there was no scoring as the ball went back and forth, and up and down the field. Wenatchee called timeout with 30 second left in the game. Mitchell Parks drove hard, and shot between two defenders to tie the game at 12-12. The first OT was much like the fourth quarter. The second OT, Providence controlled the ball, had a number of good shots and one that bounced off the pipe. Third OT, Providence had another shot hit the pipes. Half way into the third OT, Wenatchee had possession when a Providence player subbed out, leaving Tyler Howard open. Eric Carlson saw the opening, passed to Tyler cutting toward goal, who buried it from above the crease. Good win, Wenatchee!!
