Team Summaries | Timber Rattlers Notes: Baseball at beautiful Back Caldecott field on a perfectly warm evening! Now I know why we are all so eager to get to AAA :-) Playing for the second day in a row, the T-Rats clearly packed their lumber - they banged out 5 runs in the first (Bullwinkle and Cottonball each lacing 2-run singles), and tacked on in each of the remaining innings. KitKat went 3 for 3, including a double to center. Sarge smashed a ball that got thru a Volcano pitcher and on towards second base without somehow removing his spleen! Bullwinkle contributed a 2 for 2 day of his own with two ropes to left center. It wasn't just an offensive day; the T-Rats hurlers were their strike-throwing selves, with 4 pitchers allowing just 4 walks. And throwing strikes meant balls in play, so the defense had to play well behind them. Bootsy caught a tough pop up to open the game, while Sarge and Q both tagged runners out at home on steal attempts. Plus, we saw more of the unsung heroes of AA - outfielders backing up plays on the infield. This commitment to team will help us as the season moves along and the games tighten up!
