| Team Summaries | Mudcats Notes: Mudcats had a killer time Saturday playing their cleaner counterparts, the Cats. Except for one shaky inning (2nd) of poor defense, the Mudcats played an exceptional first game, with stellar pitching and a lot of batters putting a charge in the ball. 'Ace' Goldberg showed strength under pressure, pitching 3 innings with 2 K's. 'Zen Bone Crusher' Berrick kept the Cats offense on their heels, pitching 2 innings with 5 K's. 'The Beard' Mollard put up a zero in the top of the 6th, facing 4 batters and fanning 3. With the stick, both 'One-Arm' Symons-Rogers (2 for 2) and 'Wheels' Weinstein (1 for 3) had doubles. B Hogg was 1 for 3 but showed that he can take the ball for a ride. Watch out baseball fans. It's going to be an awesome season. Cats Notes: |
