| Team Summaries | Timber Rattlers Notes: Weekday baseball, and a full boat with KitKat back from his European vacation! Facing back to back Tue and Wed, the T-Rats decided to go with pitching by committee tonight, and 6 T-Rats pitchers did their job keeping the Rockhound bats in check! Now if we could just stop plunking the opposition... apologies for the 6 bruises we left on Rockhound legs, backs and shoulders today. Speaking of T-Rats pitchers, we'd like to give a special note about Rhino's day. After making every extra practice session available, Rhino made his pitching debut tonight. He struggled with nerves at first (2 walks to open), but a pep talk from Sarge and Q settled him down and he struck out the next 3 batters to end a scoreless 2nd inning. Great Job! On offense, Strawberry hit a 2-run single to right center before getting caught stretching at 2nd. Fingers led off an inning with a bunt single and then stole three times to score. Late in the game, Bootsy showed his inner Vlad, hitting a ball that bounced for a clean single to left. Defensively, Clam set the tone with a clean 4-3 to open the game, and Bootsy ended the 4th with an equally pretty 6-3 putout. The gem of the day, tho, was a 2-3-6 (Q to Wiffle to 7Up) caught stealing in the top of the 6th. Called Up: 7Up for great teamwork! Rockhounds Notes: |
