What a game
Providence came out and scored 5 times from 5 different players, 3 on EMO, to end the first quarter 5-0.
The second period was lock-down defense with great goal tending on both ends and no scoring, ending the half still 5-0 Providence.
Providence brought a raucous crowd with tons of spirit to match the Woodinville Spirit Night final home game of the season.
The third period resumed with 2 Highlanders in the penalty box, and the Falcons got on the board for the first time, on a feed from Senior Tyler Paris to freshman Daniel McKee. The momentum swung to Woodinville who put up 6 unanswered goals while the Highlanders were frequent visitors to the box, and the Falcons pulled ahead 6-5. Face-off specialist Oliver Thomas controlled the face-off all night, and picked up two goals from x to end the 3rd at 7-6 in favor of Providence.
The crowd got REALLY loud as the 4th quarter got underway. Providence scored one more on EMO to open an 8-6 margin. No more penalties for Providence, and superfreshman Daniel McKee muscled through to bring it back to 8-7 with 7:36 to go. Despite losing the faceoffs Woodinville forced the turnovers, and senior captain JD Chapman tied it at 8-8 with 3:17 remaining, and a repeat performance by JD with 44 seconds to go to put Woodinville ahead for good.
Thanks for the great game, and good luck with the rest of your season.

Providence Notes:

Penalties killed Providence in the third quarter, serving 7.5 minutes of penalties. Woodinville made their first goal when they were three men up. From there, Woodinville worked their EMO very effectively and made 6 goals in the third quarter. Oliver Thomas scored two nice shots to keep Povidence ahead 7-6. Providence scored first in the fourth quarter to go ahead 8-6, but Woodinville kept fighting back and capitalized on three isolation opportunities. JD Chapman scored the winning goal with 45 seconds left in the game.

Congratulations, Woodinville. You played a great game and made good adjustments throughout the game.
