North County traveled to Friday Harbor on what turned out to be the most beautiful day of the season so far. Both teams came out of the gate scoring as there was nine goals scored in the first quarter. In the second NC took possession control and worked well on offense scoring four goals. After the half San Juan had no let down as they continued to fight for every loose ball, and made NC work for everything all game.
In the end, NC was able to hold off the momentum swing from San Juan and close out the game in the fourth. Marcus Fakkema had 5 goals and 1 assist, Trevin Salminen had 3 goals and 2 assists (11 points the last two games). Devin Conner had 1 goals and 4 assists and Edgar Mendoza scored his first hat trick of the season with 3 goals. The defense had thier work cut out for them trying to stop two prolific SJ scorers in Hills and West. Brandon Van Boven registered 8 saves.
San Juan has gone through a lot this year and fights for every second of the game. They will be back in the running of things next year for sure!
